From Bologna Centrale railway station
– Walking (km 1,7): from the main exit into Piazza Medaglie d’oro, turn right onto the main road Viale Pietramellara and walk for half a block, turn left into Amendola Road, and keep going straight. The road will change names to Piazza Martiri Square (roundabout), and then Via Marconi. Keep going straight, go through Piazza Malpighi (the back of the San Francesco Church will be on your right). Turn right into Via Sant’Isaia and walk along to number 18. Ring the bell and someone will let you in.
– by bus (10-15 minutes): n. 21, shuttle D, stop SANT’ISAIA.
From the Bus station
– Walking (km 1,5): from the bus terminal, cross Via Indipendenza and cross Piazza XX Settembre to Via Gramsci, walk along this street until you get to Piazza Martiri (a large roundabout with a fountain in the centre) and continue along Via Marconi until Piazza Malpighi. Go through Piazza Malpighi (the back of the San Francesco Church will be on your right). Turn right into Via Sant’Isaia and walk along to number 18. Ring the bell on the intercom on the left and someone will let you in.
– By bus (15 minutes): n. 11, 27 (direction town centre), stop RIZZOLI; on the other side of the road bus n. 14: stop SANT’ISAIA.
From Guglielmo Marconi Airport
– by Aerobus BLQ (about 20 minutes) tickets available from newsagent inside airport or from machines near bus stop. Some buses stop UGO BASSI; on the other side of the road bus n. 14: stop SANT’ISAIA; alternatively short walking distance (mt. 700). Some Airport buses stop at Bologna train station, see instructions above.
By car
The Institute is in Bologna’s town centre, inside the Limited Traffic Area (ZTL).
We suggest that you leave your car in one of the city parking lots, and come to the Institute by public transport.
